BillingFAQ

Billing and trial questions.

Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial. Install Sumzy, run summaries on your own product pages, and see them live before you're charged. The trial covers up to 1,000 summaries, enough for a typical catalogue. Cancel before 14 days are up and you pay nothing.
No. You're never charged for how many products you have, and products without reviews cost nothing. Plans differ on the features they include, not on catalog size.
Both are available on WooCommerce and Shopify, and you pick either when you choose your plan. Annual billing costs two months less than twelve monthly payments. Monthly leaves you free to cancel any month.
Yes, at any time, and the new plan's features are yours as soon as your biller confirms the change. Moving down a plan deletes nothing: your summaries keep showing, and any setting the lower plan does not include is kept for you. It stops taking effect while you are on the lower plan, so a custom look or disclaimer stops showing on the storefront, and it starts working again if you move back up. On WooCommerce you upgrade or downgrade from the Freemius account portal. On Shopify you change plans on Shopify's own plan page, opened from inside the Sumzy app, and you can switch between monthly and annual there too.
Displayed prices exclude VAT. The company that sells you Sumzy acts as Merchant of Record and adds and remits any applicable VAT or sales tax at checkout based on your location: Freemius on WooCommerce, Shopify on Shopify. The price you see is the net price; tax, where it applies, is shown at checkout.
It depends on your platform. On WooCommerce, Sumzy is sold by Freemius as Merchant of Record: Freemius processes payment, issues your invoice, and handles applicable VAT or sales tax. On Shopify, Shopify is the Merchant of Record through Shopify App Pricing: the charge lands on your regular Shopify bill and Shopify handles the tax. Sumzy never sees your full card details on either platform. See our refund policy for details.
Cancelling stops future charges, and your summaries stay live for the period you paid for. After a full lapse, generation stops and the widget stops displaying, and nothing is deleted: if you resubscribe, your summaries come back and generation resumes.
your summaries stay in your site's database unless you uninstall with the remove-data option enabled.
cancelling deletes nothing, but uninstalling the app is different. Shopify removes the metafield your theme reads and sends us a shop erasure request about 48 hours later, after which your summaries are permanently deleted.
Yes, on your first paid charge. If your trial converts and Sumzy isn't right for you, email hello@sumzy.io within 14 days of that first charge and we refund it in full, on a monthly or an annual plan. Renewal charges are generally non-refundable; cancel before the next renewal instead and you keep access through the period you paid for.
Freemius is the Merchant of Record and issues the refund.
Shopify is the Merchant of Record, so the refund is requested and credited through Shopify under Shopify's billing policies.
Full details are in our refund policy.
